To All Teachers and Staff in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades Counties:
The J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge would like to announce the donation of $10,000 to area schools for conservation education-related projects. This money can be used to purchase teaching aids, books, and classroom materials, fund new classroom science projects, take field trips, and conduct work projects in your community or beyond. All schools in the five-county area are invited to submit Environmental Education or Science related unit proposals.
Criteria for projects:
1. Projects should have an Environmental Education, Science, Math, Language Arts, or Conservation focus.
2. Each proposal should not exceed $1,000.
3. Projects must be completed by end of school year May 2016 with proper documentation submitted, including receipts. Approved projects will be announced by December 2015.
