The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society (DDWS), with J.N. “Ding” Darling
National Wildlife Refuge, has announced its second annual donation
of five $1,000 grants to Lee County Schools for conservation education
related projects.
Schools may use the grant money to purchase teaching aids, books,
and classroom materials; fund new classroom science projects; take
field trips; or conduct work projects in the community.
All Lee County Schools are invited to submit environmental education-
or science-related unit proposals by Oct. 15, 2007. The five approved
proposals will be awarded in December 2007 for projects to be completed
by May 2008.
